The Wilsden Band has been running for over
25
years, and over time has had a strong body of players and fans who have
helped support the band and influence its future.

Where it was once a longstanding tradition for the villages in and
around West Yorkshire to have a 'Village Band', few have managed to
survive and those which haven't have dwindled into nothing more than a
distant memory.
The Wilsden Band is different. We've grown dramatically since our start
in
1981 and have a wide range of experience when it comes to our players.
In the Autumn of 2006, the band was taken under the leadership of
Conductor and Musical Director, Ken Lee. Since then, the band has
played numerous concerts throughout the Winter season, most notable the
Friend's Concert in October and the Christmas Concert at Cullingworth
in December. A full and varied concert schedule is planned for 2008
with numerous Concerts, Park Jobs and Private Functions dotted around
the calendar.
The band is modelled on a traditional Brass Band arrangement and
consists of a Cornet section, with front and back row, Horns, Baritones
and Euphoniums, Trombones, Basses and a Percussion section.
Currently, the band is looking for
players who can play the following
instruments:
Cornet
Bb Bass
We are happy to offer any budding players, the use of a band instrument.
